We are calling on the superyacht industry to sign up to the PACT – uniting behind five common goals to reduce its dependency on single-use plastics, to share information about viable alternatives to single-use plastic items, and to inspire other industries to take a similar approach.
After a successful career in the yachting industry as a chief stewardess I have made the exciting move to motherhood with a baby due later in the year.
Whilst growing up in New Zealand I spent many school holidays aboard my fathers yacht taking in the true serenity of the ocean and vast wildlife we have there. I want my children growing up in a world that I am proud to bring them into and one where wildlife still exists.
So when I saw the launch of the clear ocean pact in November I was immediately drawn to its mission and I was passionate about getting involved. After seeing first hand how big the problem is, not only in the yachting industry but worldwide I offered to volunteer for the Clear Ocean Pact. I am now the official Ambassador and event co-ordinator based in mallorca and I’m looking forward to educating yachts further and changing their mindsets on how they can make simple changes on board using viable alternatives.
